If a part works I can't just throw it away. One of my spare bottom brackets is a KSS BSA 68mm cartridge type which is in relatively good condition. Relatively because I suspect it to be a cheap one in the first place with its plastic cups. Anyway, the last time I installed it into an old Bianchi frame (BSA & italian.. that's strange) I couldn't screw in one of the crank bolts. After some inspection it seemed the the thread in it's spindle was F.U.B.A.R.But darn.. the whole bottom bracket is in great shape... So you can guess: it's back in the spare parts box waiting for a day I am able to tap a new thread if by any means possible.
